    Responsibilities

    Job Summary:

     

    Primary responsibility for a variety of tasks involving use of hands and tools such as building, demolition, sawing lumber, and clean-up.

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Unloads trucks
    • Moves materials
    • Assists carpenters
    • Digs holes for signs and miscellaneous other needs
    • Demolition work
    • Final cleaning at project
    • Lifts and carries building materials and tools for the carpenters
    • Cleans tools, equipment, material and work area
    • Erects scaffolding, shoring and braces
    • Mops and sweeps job site
    • Performs other construction activities necessary to complete project
    • Attend required safety training
    • Exercises safe construction practices
    • Pressure washing
    • Cutting weeds & grass with weed eater around project

     

    Other Functions:

    • Interacts with other field employees and subcontractors

The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required from time to time.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Physical ability to lift and transport tools and materials at construction sites in all phases of construction
    • A minimum of one year of successful work experience in construction industry preferred
    • Valid driver’s licenses & transportation

     

    Machines/Tools/Equipment:

    • Employee is expected to supply his/her own carpentry tools, a list of which is provided by Wohlsen Construction Company – Toolbelt, Hammer, Tape measure, Utility Knife, Pencil, Combination or Speed Square

     

    Working Conditions:

     

    Works both indoor and outdoor construction with exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures. Overtime may be required, and some work may involve elevated heights, several stories above ground or work below ground. Out-of-Town work may also be required.
